3 Years...

Holy cow. I can't believe I haven't updated this thing... ever. Ok, well actually I can, I'm horrible at updating my photography blog and I actually have to do that for business. Anyways, here I am!

Here's my update -
In the last three years, we've moved from Spanish Fork to Mapleton to Denver, had a baby girl, Brooklyn(two KIDS!!!), launched and officially made a photography business, B graduated with his International Business Management Bachelors of Science, got accepted to law school, finished the first semester of law school, I dabbled in Pre-Med stuff then changed major to Psychology(I promised myself not to ever ever ever change again so I can just get it over with!!) and are making plans for after law school.

Wow. We have been non-stop!

So that pretty much sums up everything we've been up to since I created this blog. I promise to keep up from now on since we don't live near any family.

On other news today, Brixton made the International Law Journal! It's one of the hardest journals to write on to at the school- I'm just so proud of him! Congrats sweety!!

That's it for now, but my commitment is to update at least once a month instead of once every three years. Wish me luck! :)

Brayton R. Hakes

Brayton was born on February 14, 2010 at 2:14 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20.5" long.

I was a little worried about Brixton during the delivery part, seeing as he just doesnt deal with blood very well, but a doctor mask and a couple alcohol strips later, he did a-okay.

He's 3 weeks old 1 day now and is a very alert baby! He can already roll over on his own and loves his swing, loves to cuddle and loves when his daddy plays the piano.

Wintercross....

This Year was the second year Brixton has been racing the Wintercross Series up in Heber, UT. Brixton got a couple really good starts, and had a good crash. Overall, the whole weekend was alot of fun as always!

Brixton's Birthday

January 30th was Brixton's 24th Birthday. We cele
brated with 2 different birthday parties on both sides of the Family. My mom and Cheryl (Brixton's sister) both made delicious homemade cakes for him along with pulled pork sandwiches by his request.

October 11th, 2008

The Wedding Day! We were sealed for time and all eternity in Manti, Utah Temple. Since everything after the sealing is pretty much a blur to me, I'll just let some of our pictures tell the story...

And a few pictures from the reception...

Meet the Hakes....

Here is a quick run down of our past few years to catch you up with us!

Brixton and I met the summer of 2007. While it wasn't exactly love at first sight, things definitely took awhile to get going between the two of us. We became good friends for awhile, but were both involved in many other work, business, and friends at the time, going in and out of touch with each other. Finally, in the Spring of 2008, we started dating quite a bit. And through all our crazy adventures, jumping the exploder(old ford explorer), many family and friend trips all over, stalling in planes, and all the dates and movie nights in between, we became inseparable.

June 2008 - After attending a family birthday party, Brixton had promised to take me to one of my all time favorite restaurants, The Aerie, up at the Cliff Lodge in Snowbird. I was so excited the whole day, I thought I knew what was coming, he was going ask me to marry him. But after a few delays, and finally getting up to the restaurant a lot later then planned, nothing seemed abnormal. I mean sure, we had the whole place to ourselves, it was romantic lighting with floor to ceiling windows of one of my favorite views of one of my favorite places to be. Plus a fireplace with cheesy music seemed to top it all off, but I started doubting it was gonna happen. We had a great dinner and laughed and talked the whole time. By the time we had finished dinner, I accepted the fact that tonight was not the night. We talked a bit more and started discussing what we should do after. A little disappointed, I shrugged and gave no ideas of what to do. I didn't even notice the shiny diamond ring sitting on Brixton's finger. Before I knew it, he was on one knee, asking me to marry him! Of course I said YES!!!! I couldn't even talk through how big I was smiling the rest of the night!
